Our first love

So. The girls have a boyfriend. As of right now, we think Reagan is REALLY in love...Riley is still on the fence but sure seems to be smitten. Our across the street neighbors, Kay and Christian have the most wonderful little boy named Joshua. The girls have become good friends with him (and I ADORE his mom!!!) and we play together a lot. The girls call him "Joshy" and stare out of our front window looking for him. It's beyond adorable.  They came over for a playdate this morning and we all took a walk tonight. Before we said goodnight, they all gave big hugs (there may have been a kiss or two in there too...but they were just quick ones!). We are so lucky to have such wonderful neighbors who have become wonderful friends already too.  We can't wait to see these kids grow up together...and who knows, someday maybe I can compare these pictures to the ones that they take on their way to prom! (although, let's hope that "Joshy" doesn't have to take both girls...I'd like to think that they will both be able to get their own dates!!!).

We love Costco

I don't think that I ever really appreciated Costco until I had little ones who have started to eat grown up food.  They go through so much mac and cheese, yogurt, milk, etc...every week that I feel like I'm constantly at Publix.  Everyone is always amazed at just how well my girls eat! So the girls and I took a trip to Costco this week and did some damage.  Of course I got suckered into buying the girls each a toy...I've had my eye on these for a while anyways but they were almost $20 cheaper (EACH!) at Costco than they are at Toys R' Us, so I felt okay about it. The girls have been on them NON-STOP. They're still trying to learn how to make themselves go without help...Riley's getting the hang of it, but Reagan would much rather push Riley around. The best part of this video is the end and their answers to my question. So typical!!!!

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed

My two goofballs after a nap (no...they don't nap together!). Riley went in with me to get Reagan and I put them in the crib together for just a second (or so I thought)  so that I could fold some stuff and this is what happened....

First Day of School (EVER)

Reagan and Riley started "school" today!!!! They will be attending Christ Church's Early Learning Program in Ponte Vedra Beach every Monday and Wednesday from 8:30-11:45. There are 9 little ones in their class and 3 teachers. It is amazing...I think they are going to love it. (so am I!!!!) Today went so well...not one single tear! (not even from me...) They had a great time and are napping in their cribs as I type this. I think they are worn out!
Nana Susan is here visiting, so we were lucky enough to have her go with us for the first day...it definitely helped to have the extra hands. I have no idea what it will be like on Wednesday when we go back and I'm all by myself, but I'm sure hoping it's as smooth as it was today! Nana Susan bought the girls their very first backpacks for school. Aren't they adorable?!? They have to bring a change of clothes, diapers, snack and drink with them each day that they go. The girls have been practicing wearing them around the house and they LOVE them.
All in all, "school" was a huge success and I'm so happy! If you have any ideas of how I can fill my time 2 days a week...let me know! I'm not going to know what to do with myself! I volunteered for everything that they had at the school so if they take me up on it, I may not have any free time anyways!! OOPS!

HUGE sigh of relief

Reagan, Riley and I left on Thursday to go to Charleston for Riley's big 6 month checkup at MUSC.  We stayed in Kiawah for the night with mom and dad and it was SO fun to be there right now. The PGA Championship is going on and it is amazing to see the island so busy and looking so fantastic.  It's my favorite place on the planet and I'm so glad that everyone else is getting to see it on tv and see why we love it so much. Mom and Dad have been volunteering as marshals all week but took a break from that today to help me out. They were such a ridiculously huge help to me these past two days I can't even explain it.  Matt had to stay behind for work, obviously, so dad (BopBop) watched Reagan while mom (Nana) went with me to MUSC for Riley's appointment.  I have been a nervous wreck about today for the past few weeks. She has been doing so well and showing no signs of any problems at all...but I think for the rest of my life I'll always worry about what I can't see and anytime one of these big checkups comes up I think I'll lose sleep for awhile worrying about things I can't control! Well....we couldn't have gotten any better news than we did today. Her valve is showing  very minimal signs of leakage at all. In fact, her cardiologist said he had to look hard to see it. That is exactly the news that we've been praying for.  We also graduated and don't have to go back for another appointment for ONE WHOLE YEAR!!!!!!!!! Can you even believe it?! I can't.  Matt and I are so happy that there almost aren't words to describe what a relief this is to us and how happy we are about how well she's doing.  Riley was a total champ again, of course. She had an EEG, an EKG and  had a few other things done as well. She definitely doesn't like having the leads put on her and could do without having to lie still during the EEG, but for the most part she was fantastic. All of her old nurse and doctor friends kept stopping by to see her...she was quite the popular little girl there today! I couldn't have done it today without mom and dad though so a HUGE, HUGE thank you to them and a BIG thank you to all of you who have been praying for little Squirt and for us too. We are so thankful!

Best friends

Reagan and Riley have really become the best of friends. They love each other so much. They really don't like it when one of them is out of the room. It's not that they play together all of the time, they don't. But it seems like they like to at least know that the other one is close by. They have started cuddling each other a lot lately though. They hug, "kiss" and roll around on the floor together. It's honestly amazing to watch. Matt and I watched them and played around on the floor with them this morning for about 2 hours....no joke.
It's pouring here today...it's been a pretty big storm since about 6 this morning! It's kind of fun and the plan as of now is to just play around the house today. We may, or may not, get R and R out of their pjs...we'll see how the day goes! (They're our favorite pjs from our awesome friend Meghan!!!)
Here is a video from EARLY this morning (PLEASE, PLEASE ignore how I look in this. I swear I think I was still half asleep! Just focus on the cuteness that is Reagan and Riley). They had been doing this for awhile when we finally tried to capture it on video. I love that we have even this little bit to watch and pray that they will always love each other this much! But you'll at least get the idea of what I'm talking about....

I love the dollar store

Reagan and Riley have a few really, really favorite activities right now.  They love playing with the magnets on the fridge. They LOVE playing dress up with their "jewels" (or all of my old jewelry that I can't believe I actually bought). They can play with the bracelets and necklaces for an hour. No kidding.  (so if you have any old costume jewelry you want to get rid of, please send it our way!!!). But for the most part, their attention spans don't really last much longer than a few minutes, so buying new toys right now is just pointless (or wasteful, depending on how you look at it). Today I took them to the dollar store and I got a pack of 12 really ugly bracelets for a dollar and some princess stickers and these two balloons. They thought these balloons were just about the funniest thing in the world. I tried to get it on video...here is a bit of it. They were at it for about 20 minutes until the balloons both came off of the sticks and now they're just sitting on the kitchen floor. Oh well, I figure we got our money's worth...and maybe tomorrow they'll think they're fun again?!?
