A visit from Aunt Lola and cousin Cooper (Grandma Mimi too)

Laurie and Cooper came to visit us in Cleveland when the girls were about a week old. As amazing as that was, I'll be honest...I hardly even remember it. I was so out of it and so exhausted and trying to figure out how in the world to be a mom that the whole visit was a blur. My biggest regret was that I didn't take ONE picture the whole time they were there! I was so bummed when I realized that...of course, I hadn't started the blog yet, but still. Unforgivable! SO.....I am going to be making up for it for a long time as evidenced in the pictures from their first visit to us in our new place in South Carolina!!!! We took a ton! They came over this morning and it was awesome. First of all...Coop is growing up so fast! He is such a cute kid and I love him so much!!! He's at the best age. Everything is new and exciting and he's happy all the time. I'm so excited that we'll be able to see more of them now that we live closer! Laurie said it took about 4 1/2 hours to get to our house from Atlanta. Not bad at all!!!! They will be out in Kiawah all week so we'll be seeing a lot more of them this week.
Cooper was so good with the girls! He kept saying "baby....baby....baby" and pointing at them. He pointed to their eyes, ears, toes, fingers and even found Reagan's belly button for her! So cute. It's a little hard to get a good picture of all of the kids together, so I'm putting some on here so you can at least get a feel for the visit. We'll try and take some more later this week. We're all going to be together again on Wednesday when the girls get to meet their Great Grandparents for the first time!!!!!!! We're so excited!! So we'll be sure to have pictures on here from that special day. They got to meet their Great Grandma Adele before we left Cleveland so all that will be left is to meet their Great Grandparents in Michigan! We're so blessed that the girls have their Great Grandparents in their lives!!!!
It's approximately 150 degrees here today so we're not going to be doing too much but crossing our fingers that it cools off soon! We're heading to church for the first time tomorrow and can't wait. The girls are going to go to the nursery so cross your fingers for us on that one! They said they'll give us a beeper and it will beep if they get out of control. I'm going to say an extra prayer during that church service that that beeper stays silent!

Our big girls

Here are a couple of quick videos of the girls. They are getting stronger every day and are constantly holding their heads up by themselves! The video of Reagan will by no means win us any Parent of the Year awards...in fact someday she'll probably say we tortured her when she was a baby but we had to put them both on here. It's not her best showing but it will probably make you laugh at least! And Riley seems to be back to normal...still has her little cough, but she's happy and is back to eating and sleeping again so we're relieved! (and still crossing our fingers that Reagan doesn't show any signs of getting it!). Have a great week!

Slacking on the updates

I haven't posted anything new in over a week...things have been incredibly busy and crazy and exhausting around here. BUT....we're pretty much all unpacked now and the house is looking fantastic if I do say so myself! The girls are settling in and loving their new room and Matt and I are in love with the house and the area. We aren't really getting out too much just yet. It is HOT, HOT, HOT here in Charleston. It seems to be hot everywhere around the country but today the heat index here is 115...not exactly appropriate for taking little ones out and about. SO...we're hanging in the air conditioning and just getting used to the house!
We had our first brush with sickness...little Miss Riley came down with a case of RSV (basically a respiratory virus) and has been under the weather for a few days now. She's been to the doctor a few times (we LOVE our new doctor!) and seems to be on the mend. The sad thing about it (besides the fact that our little one is sick!) is that we had to cancel our trip to Michigan for the Sturgell family reunion. We're beyond bummed that we won't be there to see everyone and especially that we'll miss out on celebrating my grandparent's 65th wedding anniversary. How amazing and it's bound to be a blast. We'll make sure that we get back up there as soon as we can but we can't travel with Riley not feeling well and risk her getting any sicker or infecting anyone else. I'm sad but hope that everyone there has a great time and we'll be thinking about them non-stop this weekend and wishing we were there.
We've been watching the world cup and are beginning to be convinced that the girls will be soccer players when they grow up! I hope so at least! I'm putting a picture on here of Reagan watching the USA win with Daddy and Maddie...she loved it!
In other update news....Riley is finally at 9 pounds. PHEW! She's working hard to keep it on with this virus and we're anxious for her to start catching up to Reagan (who is over 12 pounds now!...no exact weight update for her though.) My parents came last week to stay with me while Matt left for Colorado for work. They were amazing. They helped me so much it was ridiculous. They helped unpack boxes, clean the house and helped so much with the girls. I am so glad to be so close to them...it was such a relief to Matt that they were here to help me. We even took a break from all of the work and went out to Kiawah for a couple of days. We didn't get to go to the beach (it rained of course!) but it was so nice to just get away and not worry about unpacking or anything. My parents spoiled us rotten! My Aunt Conni and Uncle Ron also just came to visit yesterday and spent the night and helped us out again...we are so excited to be so close to them now and they are such a HUGE help to us in so many ways. We are also getting visits from some of my old friends from when I used to live in Charleston! One of my very best friends, Katie stopped by last weekend and even brought us dinner...it was amazing to see her (and the dinner was unbelievable). We're anxious to see more friends and meet new ones too! Hope everyone is doing well...I promise to be better about updates now that we're a bit more settled!

Happy 4th of July from Charleston!

Happy 4th of July everyone! We walked the girls up to their first 4th of July parade this morning. It was more of a mass of people riding decorated bikes and golf carts...but it was so cute. Daniel Island has so many activities going on this weekend. We'll have lots of fun with the girls when they get a little bit older! We think you'll love the video we took of the girls before we went to the parade! They are so sweet and so much fun...can't believe they'll be 3 months old on Wednesday. I'll make sure and give you the update when we go to their new doctor!

The Iofredos are officially moved in

We left Cleveland last week and moved into our new house in Daniel Island, SC on Friday, July 1st. Everything went very smoothly! Matt and one of our good friends drove our cars down and I flew down with Grandma Susan and the girls. Grandma Susan was amazing....such a HUGE help. We are so thankful to her and it was so special to have her here with us. The flight down with the girls went really well and the moving truck was completely unloaded by the time we arrived in Charleston (good planning on my part!). Everything seems to have arrived in one piece and while we're still surrounded by boxes, it's starting to really feel like a home. Matt and I are getting a lot done when the girls nap and once we put them down at night. They must really love it here. Last night Riley slept for 6 hours and Reagan slept for 7. WOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! Thank GOD too... Matt and I are wiped out! This moving stuff is hard work...especially with newborn twins!
Our house is so awesome and we are so happy here already. Daniel Island is amazing. We've had tons of neighbors stop by already to say hi, and we've gotten cookies and wine from them too! I liked the wine better than the cookies! We can walk just about everywhere but it's pretty hot. We have taken the girls out for walks every day but the walks are just a bit shorter than they were in Cleveland! Madison is also adjusting well...she's just excited to see Bailey and Dozer! We hope that you will ALL come and visit us here sometime soon. The guest room is open and ready for business!
