Singing in the tub!

After the beach one day at Grandpa David's house, Matt heard the girls and I singing from the other room while they were taking their baths, so he grabbed the camera and walked in.  Here they are singing their new favorite song...Riley cracks me up every single time because she gets so serious about it. So funny!!! (check out the tan lines...amazing since we use about a bottle of +70 sunscreen every time we go out and they are STILL getting tan!).

Long Boat Key!

We just got back from our long weekend in Long Boat Key with Grandpa David and Stephanie! We had such a great time, the weather could not have been any more amazing and the weekend flew by! The girls spent the majority of the time in the water of course! They loved swimming at Stephanie's big pool and Stephanie bought the girls a whole bunch of fun bubbles! We played on the beach, had some really yummy dinners and Grandpa even took the girls to the Mote Aquarium. It was really neat and the girls loved it. I missed capturing it on camera (of course) but there was a GIANT Manatee (1700) pounds that swam straight at the girls and smooshed it's face against the window glass at us. It was absolutely hysterical. Matt did get a video of the girls touching some starfish which they thought was pretty neat. They tried to touch the stingrays but they were just a little too fast for us! We had lunch at The Salty Dog right on the water and the people behind me kept saying how amazed they were at how well behaved the girls were!(they had their moments but for the most part they were awesome on our trip!) It was a great time and we're so lucky that it's only 4 hours away!

Last day of "school"!

I honestly can't believe the girl's had their last day of school today! It feels like yesterday that they were trying their backpacks on in the kitchen and I was a nervous wreck about leaving them (even though it was only for 3 hours twice a week!). They have grown and changed so much since August and I'm just blown away at how much they learned at Christ Church. They loved their teachers, Miss Yvette and Miss Katelynn and their friends are super special to them. They learned so many new songs and colors and numbers and Matt and I truly feel that it was one of the best decisions we've ever made to send them there. They will start again in August and next year will go Monday, Wednesday and Fridays (still only for 3 hours) and almost all of their same friends will be in their class!
Here is a picture from the first day and then one I took this morning before school...WOW! What beautiful girls we have...and growing up so fast!

A beach weekend

We spent both days at the beach this weekend! The girls are loving the ocean and love to jump in the waves. Riley calls them puddles...ha! Reagan loves to use her watering can and fill it up and dump it out. She also loves the sand.  We spend about an hour just playing in the waves and digging in the sand and then we head up to the pool to swim. The beach in Ponte Vedra is full of shells so the girls love finding me little "presents" and saving them in their buckets.  They are getting so much more comfortable in the water and would spend all day there if we let them! We had lunch there both days and then got home in time for naps! We get there early enough that we're just about the only people in the pool! It was a great weekend! Here are a couple of videos from today.

Writing checks

The girls have a new favorite activity and it's not one I thought up...they came up with it all on their own. They have started pretending to "write checks" like Mommy. They bring their little stools up to the coffee table in the family room, sit there with a real pen and some paper (I gave them some fake checks and a little memo book to make it seem more real) and pretend that they're writing checks for things. It's hilarious and they LOVE it. I'm shocked at how long they actually sit there and do this. Riley stops what she's doing every few seconds, gets up and comes over and says "I'm writing a check Mommy" and then goes back to what she's doing. She does is over and over and over and I crack up every time.  Here is a picture of them in action today after we got back from music class! The video underneath is from last night...it's not that great and doesn't really do it justice. Ron and Conni were here this week and we had a blast...they kept telling Ron they were writing a check for "two weeks". I have no idea where they come up with this stuff.

ICE CREAM CONES!!!

The girls had their first ice cream cones yesterday. I know, it seems weird to me too that they haven't had one before today!?!? Not sure why...but they're definitely going to go into the rotation now! The girls LOVED them. They didn't eat the whole thing, but came pretty close! Here are a few videos of the occasion! (again...had to split them up because I took the videos on my phone!). Yes, Riley has a bump in the middle of her forehead. She is learning to reach for the wall in her swimming class and instead of using her hands the other day, she used her forehead. Oops!

Pizza Party!

We are making up for all of our beautiful days and all of the bragging I've done about how amazing the weather has been here. The past 3 days it has done nothing but rain. HARD. Like, it hasn't stopped for longer than a few minutes at a time. There is flooding everywhere and I keep looking up at the ceilings anticipating a leak somewhere...so far so good! Needless to say, the cabin fever has set in and today we were a bit desperate for activities around the house since we are so used to entertaining ourselves outside. Matt went to the store and bought all of the things we'd need to make our own pizzas and he made them with the girls. They loved it and stood at the oven watching them cook until they could eat them. It was a great rainy day activity (even though it really only ate up about 25 minutes of the day). The sun is supposed to be shining tomorrow and throughout the next week (YAY because it's the week of The Players and we need it to be NICE!). Here are 4 videos of the pizza making process...I know it seems like overkill, but the phone only lets me send 50 seconds of video so I have to break them up! Sorry!
