Fun with Daddy

Both girls are sick. You probably won't be able to tell from this video because Matt was making them both laugh so much.  We didn't make it to the zoo this weekend...we actually didn't make it anywhere. They are both fine (we went to the doctor yesterday morning), but both have had really high fevers. They were so pitiful it made my heart break. We have been so, so lucky. Yes, Riley had open heart surgery...but besides that, the only time they've really been super sick was right after Christmas when they had croup. This one has been tough. They really don't have a lot of symptoms other than a tiny cough, but their fevers have been really high and all they want to do is cuddle. Part of me loves it (I loved it more on the weekend when Matt was home!) but it is so hard to have sick kiddos....Riley is feeling much better today and we're hoping that Reagan will feel better (and they'll both sleep better) by tomorrow!!! In the meantime...enjoy this video of Matt entertaining the girls after work!!! They LOVED this new ride!!!!

Pots and Pans

Matt spent the weekend installing locks on all of our cupboards. Riley (not Reagan) would open every single cabinet/cupboard and pull out everything. I am never far away, but if I'm doing anything and can't get to her right away, she would empty the entire thing.  Hence....this video. I turned the pots over for them and gave them the spoons, but Riley set the whole thing up! As amazing as these two are and as much fun as we're having right now...they are always, always into something! And...they can reach a lot of things that they couldn't reach before, so we have to be really careful!

We're back in business

FINALLY!!!!! Sorry about that. The move went so well. Matt was amazing and pretty much took care of everything so that I could try and keep the girl's lives as normal as possible.  We spent a few days out in Kiawah, which was so nice and relaxing.  The girls love the beach and the pool but don't love napping at the beach. One day we tried for almost an hour to get them to nap...it's just way too exciting at the beach!
We arrived in Jacksonville on July 8th and the moving van arrived early on the 10th.  The neighbors have been so welcoming and we're really, really loving where we moved. The house is going to be just perfect for us and the girls love their swing set in the backyard. The big news is that Reagan and Riley also got their own rooms for the first time! I was so nervous about separating them and not even sure I wanted to do it, but we figured it's time and that to tie it in with the move was as good of a time as any.  They've done amazing. Naps are still a work in progress....I'm beginning to think these kids are just like Energizer Bunnies and just keep going and going. They will fall asleep in a second when they're in the car, but trying to put them down in their cribs is just a battle. And they are totally winning. I'll keep at it, don't worry. I know I'm bigger.
Matt is still loving his job at the PGA Tour and now that the majority of the boxes are gone, we're going to start to feel a bit more settled. My mom and dad (Nana and BopBop) came to visit already and were a HUGE help with the girls and with some little projects around the house. They brought their dog, Dozer (Do-Do) and the girls are in love. They miss him already. No, we are not getting a dog anytime soon. We'll borrow Dozer anytime though!
So, the internet is finally up and running and so I'll be able to post more often. Matt and I think we're going to take the girls to the Zoo tomorrow so I'll make sure and bring the camera.
Here are a couple of cute pics from Kiawah with my mom and dad and then a cute video of the girls "helping" me unpack and playing in the boxes!!!

Future ballerinas

We take lots of breaks from unpacking to play and try to make things as normal as possible around here! The girls could NOT have been any more amazing during this move. We found their tutus in a box and we turned up the music and had a dance party! They look like they may have their mom's dance moves (sorry, girls). Any time they hear music they start to dance and it makes me laugh every single time!

Our last trip to the Aquarium

The girls really started to love going to the Charleston Aquarium before we left. They were mesmerized by the fish and especially by the turtles!!! We'll miss going to the Aquarium but will definitely have to drag Nana and BopBop there the next time we go and visit them in Kiawah.  Now we'll start heading to the Jacksonville Zoo. Elephants and giraffes are becoming new favorites around here. They see a giraffe and they shout "da!". Laurie said that Cooper called giraffes "da" too when he was little!

Reading with Mommy

The day before we moved was a super hot one in Charleston.  We took the girls to the Charleston Aquarium and then tried to relax (ha!) at home. The girls are still loving to read non-stop. Here is a cute video of them cuddling with me (the air conditioning was on so high that we were under a blanket!) and reading! I love my girls so much!
